The Edinburgh Hindu Temple delivers a powerful Sunday morning
sermon to its congregation, indicating that Sanatan Dharma being
the oldest religion in the world has a philosophy that provides
unlimited guidance to all believers, irrespective of their religious
persuasion.
Our religious leader, Pundit Ramesh Tiwari, recognises the
challenge facing today’s youths and has devised a plan to reach into their minds. He quotes Lord Krishna’s dialogue with Arjuna in the golden pages of the Bhagavad Gita (which Pundit Tiwari has
researched, compiled and translated from Sanskrit to
Hindi/English - Krishna The Charioteer), where Krishna advises that there are two kinds of desire seated in the mind - one which is
motivated by the senses and the other motivated by the soul
(atman).
Sensual desires he told his congregation has two effects, a happy
beginning and a sad ending. Soulful desires have only a divine
beginning with no ending. Let every desire from within be motivated by divinity, he commands his audience, so that the human race will strive for the ultimate reality.
